Research Experiences for Undergraduate Students (REU)
The ECE department offers every semester opportunities for undergraduate students to join a research lab and be exposed to their research activities.
This semester the DARClab has hosted Omar Abioye who was been working on the topic of approximate computing.
DoD SMART News
Congratulations to Victoria for being offered the DoD Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship-for-Service award.
The SMART Scholarship-for-Service Program offers full tuition, annual stipends, internship, and guaranteed civilian employment with the Department of Defense for students pursuing undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral degrees in one of SMART’s 24 STEM disciplines.
Only 2 students at UT Dallas have received this award!

GLSVLSI Best Paper Award
We won the best paper award at the 2022 ACM ACM Great Lakes Symposium on VLSI [GLSVLSI’22].
Md Imtiaz Rashid and B. Carrion Schafer, Fast Parallel High-Level Synthesis Design Space Explorer: Targeting FPGAs to accelerate ASIC Exploration
The paper basically covers how to quickly find the Pareto-optimal designs for a given ASIC technology, but using free FPGA HLS tools and then use machine learning to convert those results into ASIC equivalent.
